I wish to put the ferrari style gated shifter in my 512tr conversion, and rodney mentioned this is a bad idea because the gate holds the shifter stationary and ultimately can cause it to slip or grind, does anyone have a gated shifter, how did you install it and what problems did you encounter? I definitely want to have the ferrari style shifter in my 512tr!

Ive had one in my Ferrari kit for 6 years now, no problem.

From what I understand, the "Ferrari" "gated" shifter shift gates are not used at all. The openings are big enough that the shifter doesn't actually engage into any of the gates.

thats true. Shaft never goes into the 'slots', strictly for looks.

my shifter plate is much tighter than yours and the shifter would definitely have to go into the gates to some extent,when it is in gear it would have very little play which seems to be the problem

LMAO, Im not 'sooo cool' I just do my own thing and be myself. Dawn is 35 (still looks great) but Megans got the best legs in Columbus, lol.
