350 and 383 Stroker Kits are available from a performance company on ebay for $500-700 depending on if you get rods. Either kit includes cast parts only of course. But the kits include pistons, cam, crank, bearings, etc. Enough to get an almost complete bottom end built. Is PBM Performance good? This is for my future sbc rebuild, just won the engine last night, won't have enough for a while, with other car payments and insurance, yada, yada.

Of course rods are seperate, and balancing is on top of that, but it seems like this would be a good route to go. Please don't expect me to have this engine finished till the summer probably, so any of the forum members that act like ass's to me in the chat (you know who you are), don't start.

So whats your take on these kits?

I never heard of them before, PBM that is. Be careful, they could be offshore parts from China. I have seen crankshafts for sbc made in china, Scat crankshafts sells them, of course they also sell cranks made here too, about 2.5 times the price. You get what you pay for, if it sounds cheap it probably is...

The crank is listed as being a 2-piece seal type (pre-1985), but the one in the picture is a 1-piece seal type (1986 and newer).

As with anything, be careful, do some research, and shop around. Don't assume that ebay is always the cheapest way.
