like the topic says, whats the difference, i know the 3800 is newer than a 3.8 but why is there such a big difference in HP and Torque between the two?

3.8 old school buick, carb, lots of performance parts available, popular for engine swaps in non-computer cars

3800 new school buick/gm, efi, computers, etc

3800 is what you want.

i know the 3800 is the one everyone uses, but the one im talking about is fuel injected, with the 6 injectors and computer but is still a 3.8, what i really want to know is why the 3800 is so much more powerful than that engine? thanks for your reply tho.
