I seen great pics on Archie's and other threads showing a single groove harmonic balancer, which is narrower than a regular 7" or 8" balancer that come with the engines. Does anyone have any information on how to acquire thru the dealer or local auto parts store? I have a 89' 350 out of a Camaro, but the unit is quite thick. TIA.

What you are referring to is the modified balancer/pulley that comes in Archie's kit. You won't find that piece anywhere else.

I was looking into the Fluidampner 6" balancer for the late model camaros. It looks as though if it can be put on "backwards" & the shaft trimed it MAY fit.

Had not measured balancer from Archies kit(which I have at home) to compare the thickness of the balancer.

Yes you will, its a part from another source, not in the automotive industry though.

You need this balancer that comes with Archie's kit. I purchased the balancer from him separately (not as part of the kit).
