i was wondering if it was possible to take the fastback end fron an 87 or 88 and put it on a 85. i would love to make my notchback look like a fasback from 87 or 88. I dont want to use the P.O.S. add ons that are avaliable.

yes its very possible you can put a 86-88GT fastback rear clip on any/all fiero's

ive got an *almost* complete fastback swap up here in west virginia, i was asking $400 for the all the stuff i have, but there isnt anyone in my area that is looking for a swap kit.

Like Mosh said any year will accept the GT/fastback body components. Swapping parts is not that difficult and it requires a very minimal mod to the wiring harness for the rear lights. Very doable backyard project. I'd be on the lookout for a cheap non-running or running GT as a donor so you would have all the parts you need, or you may want to do like a lot of folks and have one of each! Seriously, if you can pick up a GT for around $500 it may be cheaper than buying all the pieces seperately to make the full conversion.
Good luck and keep us posted!

it's possible, but the rear tail lights are going to be differant because the rear wiring harness (c500) connectors were differant from 85 to 86,87,88. I put an 86 fastback clip on my 85, and i had some difficulties with the rear taillights. For example, when i brake now, both the yellow and red lights come on. Little things like that, and like the fan would stay on all the time, because there's a wire in back, that deals with the front cooling fan. So it's possibile, just gonna have to work out some kinks..any other questions, feel free to ask

PISA once offered an inexpensive conversion kit for notchbacks which provided side panels with fastback quarter windows but I do not know if it is still available. I liked the concept as the headliner remained in place during the conversion and no re-wiring was required. You also retained the easier to find notchback tail lights but you did have to narrow the deck lid to fit. This may or may not be a solution for you but you might want to check it out.
