spring compression for lowering ride height by swoodard23

I have seen the spring compressors at pepboys and JC whitney that advertise lowering or raising ride height by placing them on the springs and bolting them down. Do these work for very long, how much lowering can you get from them, and are they safe for no frills driving. P.S. My wallet is an issue and that is the only reason I'm asking.

Well you could try a 2 inch drop, but don't expect any performance or smooth ride.You can use them to see how will you car look.But for tight budgets, beats cutting the springs.Post some pic if you do.Good luck.
