I've been reading through various turbo and supercharging posts on the forum and have an application question of my own.

My 86GT has almost 150k miles on the original 2.8L. Is forced induction, even with a small boost (<8psi?), a bad idea in general with an engine thats been around more than a few blocks?

alot depends on how well the car's been taken care of. I wouldnt want to spend all the time & money on turbocharging without at least new rings & rod bearings. If you got good oil pressure & not burning oil, you probably could do it. My best advice would be to get the 3.1 stroker kit ($500), that owuld give you a 3.1 with new rings & bearings, and then turbocharge that. forced induction puts alot more load on the lower end.
