I need to repaint the front of my car -> the GT aero spolier. I´ve got a bright red 88 GT and I´m wondering what the color code is.

BTW I have to do this because i bumped in to my friends car when he hit the brakes while driving in front of me... I have resently bought and installed carbomet brakepads from the fierostore which I must say are the worst piece of crap I´ve ever bought. When cold as in this case, almost nothing happens when you hit the brakes. And they can´t get too hot either, then they suck too. so they only work in some mid temp range, which is almost never present. Of course it´s my fault not keeping enough distance to my friend, but this would never have happened with my old stock pads... Just a warning to everyone considering buying these pads.

A well, I appreciate any answers for the color code.

According to "The Fiero Spotter's Guide" by Mark Corbin the 1988 bright red color code is U81.

yes, U81 (or 81?) sounds correct. I can't remember if U81 and 81 are different colors, or the U is just from red being the 'upper' in the two tone cars. I can check the book and get back to you tonight if someone else doesn't clear it up first.

Just an FYI - look under the front hood on the drivers side wheel house, there's an RPO sticker. On the bottom you'll see a "WA-xxxx" code which is what most paint shops will want to hear.
