Hi
I am bringing this to the top since it just hapened to me.
I whish I would have done the search before droping the gas tank. To me it was a pain in the rear dropping the tank but the good news is that it looks like the previous owner had the fuel pump replaced.
I took the sending unit to a friend of mine and he test it with an ohm meter and it was not reading correctly when it should have been empty, he took the sender apart and clean the contacts w/ sand paper and then tested againg , then it was reading correctly in the ohm meter.
The next day I replace the fuel filter and put the tank back on the car ( a pain in the rear again, about 2 hrs ), then I went to a gas station and got a gallon of gas, put gas in car, turn the car on and it is STILL reading a 1/4 of a tank, so I think I might try a different gauge to see if is the gauge, if not I guess I will try the "relocating the niddle " trick.
I just wanted to Thank all the ones who help by giving advice here I really appreciate it
