This will be for a 88 Formula 2.8 5 speed (Getrag)

How do I remove the rotor? (I pulled on it but it doesnt seem to want to come, pull harder? it looks like there is alot of rust on the shaft...)

How do I replace the pick up coil?

Is it a smart idea to use a motor flush? car has just under 100k miles.

Car has never had synthetic oil, I am going to run a synthetic blend for about 1000 miles because it has not had a oil change in a while - is it safe to go to synthtic? (I know this question gets asked alot)

How many quarts of syncromesh should I get for the Getrag?

I am getting a code for a lean 02 sensor, I have not cat. is this why or should i replace then sensor?

What should I replace besides cap/rotor/pickup coil/oil/oil filter/fuel filter/plugs/wires/tranny fluid? Car pretty much had been sitting since '94, they did give it a tune up in early '02 though...

Thanks
Kyle

You might consider flushing fresh brake fluid through all four brake lines.

Suck most of the old fluid (don't uncover the ports in the bottom) out of the master cylinder and replace it with fresh fluid first.

To replace the pick up coil you need to remove the distributor, knock out the pin on the gear and pull the shaft out to get to it. Don't forget to mark the position on the distributor body and the rotor before you take it out, the rotor will rotate as you teke it out so make a second mark of this position on the distributor. Your rotor is probably rusted to the shaft, just pul hard on it, maybe a couple of taps with a hammer will help loosen it, but be carefull that you don't ruin any other parts on it if you do so. The tranny should take a couple of quarts of oil to fill. If you have an oil leak or consumption problem with your engine, don't use synthetic oil as the problem will become greater. Finally, you might want to add an O2 sensor to your list of items to replace during a tune up.
