Hey guys. This is for those of you running the sunbird tach, but want it to look more 'Fiero', so it fits in.
The person I started this for was Fierosound, and he had a S/C instead of a turbo, so I changed it a bit. The only thing I couldn't decide on was what the boost meter should be coloured like, since the Fiero doesn't use anything like that.

The last pic is the stock sunbird gauge(obviously), and I suppose the rest of them are pretty self-explanatory. I've got the full-sized pics saved locally, so if someone wants a variation on the theme, let me know.

Anyone that wants one of these, just send me an email or a PM and I'll send it out, with whatever colour scheme you want.

Regards,

Kris

I'm kinda partial to #4. I just wish that this gauge read to 8k with redline at 7k for the boosted TDC...

ooooh!
I really like the second one! It's funny I find this thread b/c I've got this tach ready to go in my SE and I've been wandering if I can do anything about the colors.
Thanks, and how can I get those colors on my tach?

Hey I would need one. I like the 4th one. Now if you could only get the numbers to match the 195 Speedo Kit sold here on the forum I could replace both faces at once. Let me know if and when they might be available.

I like #3. Not that I'm going to need a boost gauge any time soon, however.

I'm considering going to this tach. My question is however, how accurate is it? I already bought the auto meter boost gauge, and I plan to run that, but the indash would be sweet also.

Sorry I haven't added anything lately.
Getting my emergency engine rebuild (four days including machining time) before the Arlington picnic (Great time!) has taken all my time. Well, that and work and family.

Anyway,
turbo86se: You've got a couple of choices. You can follow Aus's instructions with his gauge faces, or just take the file to a printers that will print it for you, onto whatever you want. There seems to be a few different ideas as to what will work. I'm personally waiting on a local screenprinter to get back to me about prices for a batch of gauges (240kmh speedo et al).

skitime: I don't know who made the 195mph speedo, but the #'s I used for my sunbird tach are the exact characters taken from the Fiero tach. (Except, of course, for the '7', since the Fiero doesn't go to 7000) I cheated a bit and modified the Sunbird '7' to look more 'fiero-like'.

Jncomutt: To be honest, I've heard the boost gauge part isn't extremely accurate. If you're going to rely on it to push within one PSI of blowing the motor, don't! Otherwise, it gives you an easy (cheap) idea when you're on boost, and roughly how much. I'll have a chance to compare the readout to an Autometer boost gauge fairly soon, and I'll report back then.

Also, if enough people want a higher RPM tach, I'll see if I can make one look reasonable. It's up to the individual to modify the electronics to read right. I can help with the right xtal value, but that's it.

Regards,

Kris

Oh yea, if someone is interested, I might be selling my sunbird tach (The one I scanned the pic from). PM me an offer if interested.
