ok, my exhaust manifolds have some annoying leaks and i dont have the $$$ or the time to fix them. I heard JB Weld is suppose to be some pretty darn strong stuff. My question is, could it hold up to the heat of the manifolds? I need something for them, the trunk side one has been welded up a few times before it looks like and is still cracked, you can actually hold your hand near it and feel exhaust comming out

I know it works well on cracked engine blocks, but I don't think it would stay on the manifolds, quite a bit more heat there, especially on the Fiero's thin ones
As long as the stuff isn't flammable, there's not much to loose but trying it other than a couple of bucks.

No JB won't do it, on the exhaust that is, been there, done that. What i did do on my old 79 Chevy pick up, IF you have the room, or depending on exactly where the crack is, I took some aluminun foil, folded it up a few time to make a long, slender patch, wraped it around the leak area, then tightened a hose clamp around it, real tight. Working now for about a year and a half!
The fire box gets hotter than 500*. So, I put on my thinking cap and found myself at the automotive store. There was a tube of goop there for $1.99 called Victors Muffler Mender. Good to 1200*!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Bigfieroman! "Fixed" the high pressue side of a power steering hose in similar fashion on a 86 Camaro once, just to get us home, approx 40 miles, only that time I used duct tape, and a few hose clamps. Wraped the tape around a few times, then clamped the site, and then either side. Like I say, got us home. And spark1, the problem I had with anything applied, when you start to give it hell, the pressure usually blew it off pretty quick. Just my experience.
