My shifter is super sloppy side to side. I see Rodney Dickman has 3 rebuild kits total for shifters:

Getrag Selector Arm Rebuild kit
Ultimate Getra Shift Kit
Shifter Rebuild kit

I notice in my shifter assembly is a large nylon peice that a ball joint rides in for side to side motion.. does anybody sell that nylon peice? Mine is badly worn and I doubt the shifter rebuild kit would fix the problem. Also, in the ultimate shift kit, I know what the cable bracket does but where does that shift lever go?

Thanks!

I actually have all three in my car. They help tighten up all the mechanisms and replace plastic washers with better washers and bushings. The shifter kit will get rid of all the side to side slop in your plastic piece. It has a brass piece that fits in there, where the shifter ball is. The ultimate Getrag kit will make your shifter throws be shorter and the brackets are much better than the stock ones.

You have all the kits, do you also have a short throw shifter? Im wondering how short your shifts will be then.

Id like to get my shifter to feel like one in a 2000+ anything.. right now Its so sloppy and ratchety im far from impressed.

I also have a short shifter. It takes a little more effort to shift but it's not too bad. The throws are short and precise with all the kits installed. Make sure you use the synchromesh tranny fluid also, this makes shifting noticeably easier.
