hi i have replaced my lower r/l ball joint twice because where the knuckel and the joint meet is loose every time i change it is tight for about a day, then the tire move about 1 inch side to side i had tighten every thing to specs the bushings got replaced the tierods got replaced the struts everything new, now i was looking at the manual and when you tighten the balljoint screw its suposed to pull the nuckel part tight around the balljoint but mine is a solid piece, may be i can cut it the way it looks in the manual so it can get tightend
this way ill be able to save $150 bucks from buying a new nuckel cus mine dont look bad at all, can anybody tell me if it will be safe to drive the car like that, i know the ball joint will be tight but will the metal brake after it get tighten please help

mod it until is perfect.

I take it you are talking about the ball joint stud hole in the rear knuckle.

You are replacing the pinch bolt each time with the new balljoint aren't you?

Don't over tighten the pinch bolt, as it will start to stretch , come loose and eventually break.

If that hole is slopped out that the pinch bolt won't keep it a tight fit, then it's time to replace the knuckle, modifying that piece is not worth risking your and everybody else's lives.

$150.00 for a new knuckle? Check the junk yards, or post in the mall that you are looking for a new (used) one.
