got some wiring diagrams for three different fan configurations but not sure which i need to look at.

how do i work out if i have a one or two speed cooling fan?

also if i have an '87 4cyl (two actually, 1 auto, one 5sp, both with air), is any of the wiring that would be used for the engine fan in a v6 be in the engine compartment? where might i look for it back there?

thanks for any help.

The 87-88 L4 are all single speed as far as I know.

The ECM controls the fan. There is no fan switch. Otherwise the system is the same as any other single speed fan.

A two speed fan would have three wires going to the fan. On older systems there was an external resistor mounted on the fan frame. On later systems I think it's all done inside the motor.
