The passenger door on my '84 will not open. The car has power locks. I had car locked, opened drivers door, hit button, lock on door moved but door will not open. I can hear both inner and outer door handles moving rods. When I try the inside door handle the outer door handle moves. Is it likely the door lock is stuck or ...? I hope someone has some suggestions. I really don't want to have to remove the inner door panel with the door closed.

You can't remove the inner door panel with the door closed unless you damage the panel. If you can't get the door open using a locksmith, you can do it the hard way.

Remove the right front fender, then remove the door hinge bolts. Have a helper pull the door open from the front; it will pivot on the lock mechanism. Now you can pull the inner door panel. When you do you can acces the door latching post (requires a Torx T50, I think.) Remove the latching post and the door will be completely removed from the car, intact. You can now fix the original problem.
