My Temp hand has been misreading the temp for a while. It has slowly but steadily started reading less and less. The other day when my car overheated I noticed the temp hand did move just not reading anything close to right. The hot light did come on before it went to boiling over. So I'm under the impression the gauge itself is bad. Some one please correct me if I'm wrong.

My question is can the gauge be adjusted? If not how hard is it to replace just the gauge?

The gauge and fuel level are a unit. I think F/S sells them. Test the gauge, disconnect electrical connector on sender (on head), ign. on, ground one wire to block, idiot light comes on, ground other wire gauge needle should peg to hot. The new gauge would plug in to where old unit is, but you have to take the POD off to get to it.....Paul

take the green wire with white stripe and put a 55 OHM resistor in line with it to ground. Turn on ign switch the Gauge should read 260. if not then your gauge is bad or the needle has moved. to check for needle position turn on the Ign. and the needle should go to 100. If not the the needle has moved and you will have to get into the instrument cluster to pull off hand and align. ( do these adjustments with cold engine).
