After seeing Cooter's dual TB intake in the archives I'm considering making one?

does any one know how to calculate port lengths and diameters ext.......

or info on hooking up two IACs and TPSs?

Heck i only need one TPS they will both be at the same location anyways..

As for IAC I'm just going to install an idle screw like on dirtbikes on TB2 to get it in the ball park, the IAC on TB1 will smooth it out from there.

I still need formulas for calculating port lengths for HP/RPM ect

i'm gonna build one as well, i'm not gonna bother with a second IAC...just gonna plug the second TB's IAC passage with some JB weld and smooth it out. thank god i still have my dynotuner, i'm gonna try to get 19# injectors to run on the 2.8 with the dual TB's. i think i might be flowing enough air to warrant the use of the 19# injectors. i will most likely sell the TB setup afterwards so i can build a 2.8 turbo setup (which i'll probably sell after also, so i can finally finish my destroked TDC project)

Unless you weld in a passage interconnecting the two plenums, then you'll need idle control on each TB.

I don't think Cooter bothered to calculate anything. He just used the material he had on hand.

Has also made a dual TB intake.

i thought i had typed that in (the balance tube that is), anyway, i had planned to do that but what about wiring both IACs together (just spliting the signal to each of them) will they both adjust together for the correct idle, or will it be twice as high since theres two IACs?

I believe that the ecm uses resistance from the IACs to "know" where they are, so splicing them together would not work.

I was planning to have a passage tube connection the two intakes together then i dont have to worry about wierd vacume connections and sensors.

I thought the IAC lets air in thru the cold start tube? so you can put the AIC on just one side of the dual, being the air will dump down straight to the intake manifold anyways? and the map sensor could be on a vacuum line with a TEE between the 2 "upper plenums", totally ditch the EGR. still got the brake booster tho...I like the idea of an equalizer tube between the 2 plenums, and putting all the vacuum crap on that.

Pyrthian, that is the plan, equalizer tube in between or on the ends with all the connections on it. i will also ditch the EGR since i have already done that.

My design idea is like a giant U but rotate it 90 degrees counter clockwise

the two ends of the U are where the TB will be and the curve at the other end will be the EQ tube, i will then be keeping the stock location for the vacume sensor and the front TB will be at almost the same spot as the stock TB.

I've got all the connections and linkages figured out, i just need info on calculating port diameters and lengths per my likeings.

Just build one like everyone else does.
I understand the desire to get as much as possible, but you're using the wrong engine for that.
