Since the motor is out of the car, I thought I would take the time to do some much needed clean up in the engine bay. I had noticed this line before but never paid it much attention. It is not connected to anything. Is this part of the recall work?

I think they could have done a better job of cleaning it up. But then again, it was recall work. Get the car in, get the work done, get it back out ASAP.

The smaller tube goes to the EGR solenoid. When they did the recall it was unhooked also. I took both of them out of my car, since they are welded together. I am going to put one of those little foam filters, like the ones used on the cruise control, where the EGR solenoid tube was.

On my car it goes from the air intake, along the back wall then goes to a large silicone tube which goes to some sort of filter mounded to the bottom right side of the intake manifold. it then goes through the filter splits into two vacumes line, one goes to the egr valve which is disconnected and plugged the other goes under the intake manifold with the EGR one then dissapears. any ideas if i can remouve these things?
Just a note on the old tube. The large tube was the old filtered fresh air supply for the crank case, which after the recall is now supplied via the metal tube that goes into the snorkel just ahead of the throttle body. However, the recall required that a rubber cap be placed over the end of the tube where the old hose to the valve cover used to go. This cap is required because the tube is connected to the clean side of the air filter, and leaving it uncapped will allow dirt, sand, and trash to be sucked directly into the throttle body without being filtered.

So if my tube is still connected to the valve cover and air filter housing the recall hasn't been done on my car? Hmmm, could mean new parts if the Pontiac dealer is cooperative.
