Just used Rodney Dickman's rebuild kit for both actuators with great results. Great instructions and a bargain compared to replacements. Took just over two hours to do both start to finish. Does anyone know why the old plastic rollers disintergrate .... curious design flaw. '87 V6 SE.

You mean the plastic gears...??

There used as a stop gear, and when the poly bushings (The remaining green messy duct) ware away the force of the motor
once it reaches momentum suddenly slams to a stop on the threads of the plastic gear....And the worst part, is that since
1986 the SAME threads on the little plastic gear has stopped that motor for thousands of times.....

I think that GM would have sold a kit for them if they continued those models, but they were replaces with a second generation motor..

Actually, I think the 87 version is the better 2nd generation.
