Did the recall change the design of the original V6 grommets (PCV and air breather)?

Thanks.

It didn't change the PCV grommet. I don't think it changed the other one either. They just blocked off the old hose and put a different tube and TB to air cleaner hose.......Paul

Did GM just change the orientation of the breather grommet? The recall bulletin says to install a new PCV grommet in the forward rocker cover and to orient the grommet with the flat side facing forward. In the diagram of the old grommet to be removed and discarded, it looks like the old grommet is oriented the opposite way. The grommet in my car has its flat side oriented more toward the left of the car rather than forward.

The replacement of the the grommet was probably just because the old grommet is going to be hardened and somewhat more prone to leakage. While the mechanic is in there it makes sense to replace the grommet just to ensure no leaks.
