I'm installing 2 extra interior lights. I would like them to turn on when the parking lights are on or if the headlights are on. Otherwise I want them to be off. Basically they just need to go on when the dash lights up. The lights are really small and use 12v. Where would be a good place to splice in to some existing wiring so that they turn on and off when they are supposed to. I figure someone has done something similar and would know where to splice them in at. Thanks

Why not just wire them up with a toggle switch that has ground and that has a 12v supply to the switch. Then you can turn them on or off whenever you want.

Well I would but I wouldn't want to have to turn them on all the time.

What I did was carefully gring out the pegasus in the door tabs and then installed a red light behind it. I want it to light up with the rest of the interior lights and not have to flip a extra switch just to turn them on. I will be posting a thred in general topic once I can take a night pic with it on. So yeah I could use a switch, but I would much rather have it come on with the other lights.

I would run them directly off of the HL/park switch. You should be able to run it off the brown wire and whenever you turn on the park lights or HL's then the extra int lights would come on.

Another alternative is to wire the extra lights into the dimmer circuit, if you think you might want to adjust the brightness of the extra light(s).

yeah that too - it all depends on when you want em on and if you want them to be dimmable.. but sounds like a nice idea
