I remember when I was working at a GM dealership that we had a couple of these 4T60-E's come in with this problem. I think it did have something to do with the pump drive bushing but I was not working on them so I couldn't tell you for sure. I am assuming you have this whine any time the engine is running? What torque converter are you running? If you are not running a really good aftermarket unit there is a chance that you are balloning the converter with all of the power you are making. BTW to the person who hates automatics; when you grenade a diff thru that 282 case, let me know how happy you are once you have to try to find another one and have it rebuilt.
