What switch could be broken and what can I do in the mean time so it won't run down my battery?

Well, I just went outside and moved the car to the back of my house and when I turned off the car this time the gauges turned off. What could have happened? (in case it does again) and when I moved it just now I didn't touch anything like the lights or anything to make them do soemthing different.

It sounds like the ignition switch wasn't returning all the way to the off position, could be a faulty ignition lock cylinder, faulty or mis-adjusted ignition switch, or bent/damaged linkage. Without a more specific description of the symptoms, it's hard to tell.

I'd just yank that little blue box out that makes all the noise to get rid of that irritating noise!!!!

Personally, I'd leave it out and forget about it !!!!!!!!

First make sure that the ign switch is actually turning the ign all the way off. Also, make sure your headlamps/parklamps are off. If all this is ok, then check all of your fuses. You may have a blown fuse feeding back to the gauges fuse. Good luck!

Won't this run down my battery? Because it's doing it again. All lights are off. Right now I have the plastic molding under the column removed and there are some wires hanging down that I have never noticed hanging before. I don't know how else I should describe it.

I would check the ignition "switch" ( on top of the steering column ). Sounds like it just needs to be adjusted. The key may be turning to the "off" position but the switch is not being slid up far enough to turn off.

It all turned off when I took out the 15amp fuse that's next to the 2 big metal power acc. fuses. If it's the ignition then why are my gauge lights staying on?
