Looks like you have a 2.8. If so the coolant sensor for the gauge is located just under or below to the right of the coil.(Near the spark plugs) It will have to wires running to it(brass usually). One is green and I can't remember the other. The connector is very brittle so be careful taking it off. Senor is about 12-13 dollars.

Open the decklid. Look to your left on the head that is facing you. The sensor sticking out of the head just below the valve cover is the sensor. The two wires are light green and dark green. I don't remember which one was the gauge and which one was the light.

If you end up shopping to replace that sensor, be very, very specific on what sensor you need. I was replacing mine and I ordered the "temp. gauge sensor" and got a coolant temperature sensor. Then I sent it back and I was given another coolant temp. sensor.

Make sure they know that it runs a gauge, not just a light. If I find my Napa invoice, I'll give you the part #

Here's a pic of the sender, located adjacent to the ignition coil. http://web2.airmail.net/jsavage1/formula/guagetempsender.jpg
The pic also shows the wire colors and which wire goes where, referenced to the square indexing tab on the connector.
