I'm putting in a 3800 S/C in my 88 Fiero, but I have a wire off the C500 that I can't figure out where it goes. It's the A1 wire, according to the HELM manual, A1 is not used, but that's obviously not correct, because it's there. I have not broke out my tone generator and traced it yet. The A1 C500 wire is LIGHT GREEN. Does anybody know where it originally went?

Thanks
Duane

hi looking at my 86 factory service manual chap 8a-202-3 just in case you can look it up it shows two views the bulkhead connector and the harness , now carefully looking at bulkhead, book calls it cowl?, there are two halves in it i am looking at what would be right hand side or towards rear the rows are as marked..

battery side............trunkside

left..................right
top...................top
j 6 7 8 9...........4 3 2 1 e
h 6 7 8 9.............3 2 1 d
g 6 7 8...............3 2 1 c
f 6 7 8 9.............3 2 1 b
...................5 4 3 2 1 a

the harnes shou;ld split into two connectors and the bulukhead connector is solid so a-1 should be lower right corner
good luck

sorry didnt post right first this should be better

here we go agian goodluck

Thanks for the effort red85gt, but I don't see it on your picture, maybe it's the other half? I do see C2 and D3 on the C500 connector.

it was the only light green wire that I could find in my manual that went to the c500 connect.

Well,

I've got an 88 factory service manual and it also shows A1 to be unused. When you do ring this wire out let us know so I can annotate my manual,

FOUND IT!

The wire from the C500 A1 connector in the back runs into the car and up to the C100 F7 pin. The wire is green.

I did not check up front to see if this wire goes anywhere, it may really be "unused" as the book says, but it is there if someone needs it
