Hey everyone, I should be finishing my swap up soon, and I had a question for the Quad4 guys. Did you just buy the FWD Getrag adapter kit from Rodney Dickman? Did you have to do any other modifications to get it to work? Thanks,

Bryson,

Is your car currently a Fiero Getrag or is it a 4 speed or 5 speed Izuzu?

It was a Fiero Getrag. Am putting in the HO Quad4 and Getrag out of a '90 Olds.

How's your swap coming?

Have you tried mounting the Fiero select lever and shift lever on the Quad 4 transaxle. I think that end of the case is identical to the Fiero Getrag I'm wondering if you need Rodney's FWD conversion kit at all.

I'm making steady progress on my swap. I pulled the old engine two weeks ago and then decided to pull the rear clip off to go after some corrosion problems I found. The car spent 10 winters in Minnesota and I think I got it out of there just in time. I've got about 6 holes to patch up but nothing too serious structurally.

I finally got my home made shift assembly just about done. One more trial fit in the car to make sure everything works and I do the final weld up. I'm still hoping to have it up and running in June.

The stock Fiero Getrag shift and select levers will bolt to the Quad 4 Getrag as it is the same as the FWD Getrag and in a sense the same as a Fiero Getrag. But the shift arm that comes out of the case is 11 mm shorter on the FWD Getrag and Quad 4 Getrag. You will not be able to get into 1st or second gear. You would be able to get 3-4-5 and reverse.
