Anyone know where the relay for the horn is? The horn on the car I just bought doesn't work. Usually one of the 2 horn goes, not both at the same time. I'm wondering if the relay is shot.

Also, anyone in Toronto area (GTA) have an extra speedo for sale (180KM)? this one's bottom out all the way past 180. When I removed the cluster and installed one from an 85GT, it worked just fine, so I figured the speedo is shot.

Look under the dash on the passanger side you will see a white (at least mine is white) relay switch. That is the horn relay.

If one of your 2 horns is working consistantly, the problem is not likely the relay. My suggestion is to rework the connections (+ and -) on the horns them selves. You can test the horns with some clip leads across your battery (should probably use an in line fuse and ear protection).

want to talk about ear protection. When I wired up my air horns on my 85GT, one came loose after 2 weeks (no horn), so as I was doing my back tracking I found the wire causing the problem. Left a ringing in the ear for 1/2 hour though. Talk about LOUD!

We might drive small cars but they'll see me as soon as I whale the horn!

You most likely have the horn(s) going bad. They can cut in and out, sometimes working and sometimes not when they corode inside. Test the green wire to the non-working horn with a test light and see if there is power (with the horn button depressed). If you hav power then replace the horn. If you want a louder one use one off a differant car (like a Cadilac).
