My voltage meter drops as the engine rpm increases. This is a new phenomenon. Any idea why this is happening and should I be concerned?

It seems to be running fine.

From what to what?? A avarage alt has three diods if one goes bad you will only put out about 1/2 of normal or some times just enough to keep the eng running, if two goes all is gone. If you don't have the test equipment most garages do and it's a easy check to see if your alt is putting out what it is rated for. You need a battery load tester a multimeter and an amp clamp that plugs into the multimeter. Or you could just have a ground problem.

Ive paid attention to this and here is what is happening:

No starting problems.
All accesoories work.

Occasionally the meter will fall from about 3/4 down to just above the red. This is accompanied by a flickering voltage light. When this happens, my blower motor will slow down. It will do this for a couple og minutes and then go back up.

Im thinking alternator. It seems to stop working intermittantly. Any suggestions?

If alternator, any idea where to get a higher amp one? Autozone seems to only have the stock size.

Thanks

Steve

Make sure the ground braid from the engine to the passenger-side decklid hinge is clean and tight.

I am going to change the belts this weekend. Hopefully that is all it is.

The grounding braid that is connected to the decklid, where does the other end of that connect to? Is any place on the block ok? or can I just connect it to any other ground? Mine looks like its been cut. May as well fix it while Im in there.
