I have a vacuum problem with the EGR valve. Does the solenoid which regulates the EGR valve operate off a fuse, a shared fuse and if so which one. Before I start testing part by part, perhaps a fuse is at fault. Thanks

Nope the solenoid is operated by the ECM. It is a pretty simple system Either a vacuum line has been pluged or the solenoid is what I am betting on being bad. Dose it throw a egr code? If it dose you need to e=replace the solenoid and (or) egr. Mine has a bad solenoid only turns on eng light at high way speeds, around town it is fine

Remove ERG valve, clean, tap bottom of valve piston holding the erg valve upright to ensure
all carbon residue has fallen off. then turn the valve upside down, take a can of carb or brake
clean using the straw gently squirt a small amount of fluid on to piston around the seat / seal...

If the cleaner seeps down inside the valve, you have a piston leak witch causes A LOT
of problems. If the piston seal holds the cleaner at the base, you're alright to reinstall...

I had a bad EGR valve for 2 years, and lots of diag time...Then it hit me like a message f
rom heaven "check my egr valve not for external leak, but an internal piston leak"
