I've got 207K miles on my Formula and the driver seat foam has compressed badly, and is very uncomfortable. After just a few minutes sitting in the seat, my back begins hurting, and I'm only 22. Long trips can be downright unbearable. I've got another Fiero with 100K miles and there is a drastic difference. The 100K mile seat is very comfortable and I can sit in it all day, so I know it is the seat, not my pansy a$$.

Is there anything I can do to "restore" the fit of my seat? Foam inserts or something under the skins? If no, I'll start a search for a local seat in good shape, minus the skins.

Is it the upper foam or the lower part under you. If it is the lower you could possibly take the seat cover off by removing the hog rings and add a 1" thick piece underneath. If it is the upper seat, that is a molded piece that can be replaced by either getting same piece from a good seat or again adding new foam. The molded piece is sewn in and would have to be cut out around the edges.

Or you could by Mr. Mikes new seat covers!

Its the bottom piece. I've already got different covers. I'm not a fan of leather seats. They are slippery for autocross, and get "hot" after driving for a bit. I've got a seat of custom-fit neoprene covers that I love. Plus they are water-proof so I can spill on them and they clean right up.

The best solution is to get another seat bottom out of another car. The other fairly easy think to do is trade the bottom with the passanger side bottom, either the inner foam and frame or the whole bottom, they fit on either side.
