I cannot find the wheel bearing torque spec. in my Haynes manual, go figure. Does anyone have it handy? I understand the finger tight procedure, I just need to know what to torque it down to before I back it off. Thanks!

From my 87 Pontiac Service Manual: "Tighten the spindle nut 12 lb.ft while turning the wheel assembly foward by hand to fully seat the bearings. This will remove any grease or burrs which could cause excessive wheel bearing play later. Back off the nut to the "just loose" position. Hand tighten the spindle nut. Loosen spindle nut until either hole in the spindle lines up with a slot in the nut. (Not more than 1/2 flat). Install new cotter pin",etc...

Thanks avengador1! I guess it is about time I broke down and bought the "authoritated" service manual.
