I was told when I bought my 87GT that a chip had been installed. Cars timing was adjusted at a Dealership about 4 months ago when I lost my pickup coil and was stranded. It just never seemed to run as good, seems to ping a bit.
Question, I'm getting ready to replace my valve stem seals and possibly the adjust valve lash if need be. And I want to re-time the car. I know I have to short the connector at the cigarette lighter but is there any other consideration with a chip? Or just use the timing light and adjust to spec.

Probably best to call the chip manufacturer to see if it is anything from the standard 10 degree average between #1 and #4. They usually put more timing in these chips, so they may want less mechanical timing? My opinion.....Paul
