My '84 SE won't start. I have an MSD 6AL and Blaster coil installed. The troubleshooting tree for the MSD indicates that the MSD 6AL and Coil are OK. Now I replaced the ignition modual but forgot to disconnect the battery. Car still will not start. Turns over but no start and no gas to TBI. The write up says that the fuel pump is turned on be the ECM if ignition pulses are coming from the Ignition module. So, did I burn up the Module because the battery wasn't disconnected? Or should I look farther?
Just checked the fuel pump. jumpered 12volts to the ceter pin if the fuel pump relay and it pumps fuel( disconnected the filter, saw fuel flow.) Today I took the ignition module to a shop and it tested good. I replaced the fuel pump relay, no go. Now what? Could the ECM be bad? I don't want to through more money at this then I have too. BTW The distributer does rotate with engine crank. The key kere may be no gass pump running.

try switching the 2 little relay boxes on driver side firewall. there just to the right and behind the air cleaner. 2 cubes about 1 1/2 inches square. One is for fuel pump, one for AC, but both relays are the same.

If you have spark, try spraying some carb or injector cleaner in the throttle body and see if it tries to start?

If no spark or fuel pulse I'd been looking at the PU coil probably...but would wanna ask you a few more questions first.

If my problem is the PU coil, how do I replace it?

BTW thanks for the replay guys. Everyone is tired of the "my car won't start" question.
