I lowered mine almost 2" I just cut the stock springs 1 coil from the front and half a coil in the rear with an abrasive wheel. Then with the new tires its only droped 1.5". With new struts and shocks it handles great. I dont have any trouble going over even the largest speed bumps. I live in a trailer court so we have alot of high ones.Yes I have to slow down and crawl over the bump but it doesn't drag. Now if I try to go to fast, after my front tires come down the other side the suspension will allow the car to squat and hit the bump but then it raises back up and all is well.

best way to lower is drop spindles up front and shorter spring or adjustable springs in back check out www.heldmotorsports.com or www.iserv.net/~strdream/fiero.html both have good drop spindles and held sells adjustable coil overs
