Since I have a programmer I was able to load the hypertech stuff onto my PC and look at what was different. It seems as tho they don't change much at all, mostly the coolant vs. spark and or fuel tables as well as fan on/off temps, at least this was all they did on the TPI camaro chip I had. Even then, not much of a change was made to those values.
You have to remember that hypertech chips are marketed towards the "typical" vehicle with the "typical" mods so they really can't make a lot of changes; otherwise that one chip would not work well for the vast majority of vehicles in that particular vehicle line.
With that being said, IMO, it is still not worth the $$$ you pay for it new. In many cases, I have seen a stock chip perform better at the track over a hypertech 9 times out of 10.
