I would appreciate seeing pics of where you mounted your MSD/Crane ignition boxes/coils (or a link if they've already been posted).

Thanks.

Here is ours when I fist put it in. I would put it a bit lower next time, because if you have the seat all the way back it touches it.

I have my fireball in the passenger side of the trunk. Some people will say that it will overheat in there, but I have not seen this. I can even put my hand on it after running a couple of hours and it is only warm. The trunk is a lot cooler than the engine compartment. I also muonted it there because it was the shortest route to the battery, so I didn't have to extend/splice cables. I like good direct connections. I will post a picture later. Here's the picture I promised.

I don't have a picture available, but I mounted mine to the left side of the air filter. This puts it right under the grill there and places the filter canister between it and the engine as sort of a heat shield. I've had itthere a year now with no problems.

I used the center console "map/glove box" to install my Mallory boost timing retard unit. Fixs perfect, the wires reach the engine bay, and I can adjust the unit on the fly.

Have any of you been able to mount the box without having to drill new holes (maybe fabbing up a mounting plate that would utilize existing holes or brackets) in the engine bay or trunk?

Well there are no existing holes in the trunk so you would have to drill some. As for the engine bay you can make a bracket that mounts the MSD to the cruise control vacuum canister mount location, but this would mean you have to relocate the vacuum cansiter and the unit will be exposed to heat from the exhaust manifold. IMO I would mount the unit in the trunk. If you mount it in the engine bay it will be exposed to the elements and over time it will start to corrode.

I mounted my box in the trunk wothout drilling any holes. I used the level area on the left side and cust a piece of 2x4 and persuaded it in the area with a hammer. I did have to drill through the carpet into the 2x4 but I didn't have to drill anything steel

I would really appreciate seeing a photo of your setup.
