Hey John, if you can wait a few days I'll look what is on my turbo the next time I go and mess with it. I tried getting it out of Jen's parents field today since they have been kind enough to let me keep it there for the winter and it was a no go...I just sunk it deeper into the mud (god this winter thaw sucks...it won't get warm enough to dry anything out). Hopefully it won't rain that much over the next week so I can go down with her dad Jim and see if it can be towed out with a tractor. I've got the itch to start fixing it up again...or at least drive the darn thing!
Anyways, the MAP sensor on mine (the Design One kit) is a standard GM part, I'm pretty sure it's the exact same one that is on the Pontiac Sunbird's and so on with the 2.0L turbo engine. If you want to save some $$ you can go boneyard hunting for one from a Turbo Sunbird. They are easy to identify, even though they look identical to the stock Fiero MAP sensor, the wiring harness that plugs into it is an orange colored connector instead of a green one. Make sure you get the orange plug and some of the wiring with it since you'll have to splice it into the Fiero's harness in place of the green one. The orange and green connectors are specifically keyed to the 2 bar and 1 bar MAP sensors to prevent you from accidentally using the wrong one (since as I said before the MAP sensors essentially look the same except for the different part # on the housing).
Note that once you switch to the 2 bar you'll have to have a chip reprogrammed to recognize it's signal range. The stock chip won't like the 2 bar at all and will set a code and run unpredictably. Dennis LaGrua can chime in with the specifics here since I know he knows that part inside and out as far as reprogramming the chip goes.
If nobody can help you out with the chip, and if Rockcrawl is willing (I think he has the right chip burning equipment to do this), I'd be willing to pull my Design One chip sometime and let Rockcrawl copy it and burn you a duplicate to at least get you started. I'm eventally going to have to have some mods made to the programming of the chip anyways since I plan on doing some stuff to the engine that the chip may not be able to compensate for without modification. The Design One chip isn't perfect to start with, but it is a somewhat decent baseline to start with.
Ken, thanks alot man. Do you know what years came with that turbo 2.0 that I need to get the map sensor off of? I went lookin thru the pull-it yard around here for the sensor and gauge but couldn't find a turbo car.
Guess I'll have to call around for it now, I just need to know what to ask for.

The one you emailed me on is correct. You want a 2 bar map from a Sunbird Turbo, Syclone or 86-87 LC2 3.8L turbo with analog dash. Also, 92-2003 L67 with boost gauge.
The 89 TTA is 3 bar and you don't want that one.

And good luck finding an 89 TTA in the bone yard anyway!! dude, I hear you about not finding and turbo cars in the yards around here. Seems like a hopeless search. Ebay has a few from time to time, even alot of aftermarket companies like Accel just mimic GM parts connectors and all (take DFI for example) so those work too. Good luck.

It's almost not worth your time and effort searching junkyards. A Wells MAP sensor from AutoZone is 28-bucks. The sensors can go as high as 75-bucks, depending on where and what brand you purchase.
AC Delco #213-1545 from Bumper-to-Bumper, 43-bucks. Connector is 22-bucks, PT-123--same as GM#12085502. Note: there is no orange on this universal fit connector, but it only attaches to the two-bar MAP.
Do I need a separate connector, or just the sensor?? I was planning on just 'cutting' the diffence in 'key' off of the plug so that I don't have to worry about splicing wires, etc.
Sorry about my dumbness

You need the sensor. If you can cut the plastic to make the connector key correctly, good for you.
I couldn't cut a straight line with the help of a team of surgeons, so I bought the connector. BTW, Early 90's (93) Sunbird 2.0L turbo, if you still want to shop the j/y.
