Okay, so I finally figured out my problems, and got the car to
crank... the first couple of times, she purred like a kitten for a
good 2 minutes, then I turned it off to check for problems (fluid
leaks, etc), and NOW it wont stay cranked for more than about 3
seconds. It sounds like something the computer's doing intentionally
because it's like a loss of fuel, it doesnt sputter, nothing, I can
rev the engine way up to like 3000rpm yet it doesnt backfire or
anything when it dies, just *poof*, dead. Any suggestions? (I'm so
happy to hear that damn thing run)

How did you disable the VATS? Sounds like a security problem.

Wouldn't VATS/Passkey be a starter disable or a fuel pump/injector disable, thus preventing the vehicle from starting, period? OR is it the case that it'll let the car start and THEN shut off the injectors? The car is actually starting and running, and then shutting off after about 3 seconds...

I am voting passkey on this one. I put a hidden switched passkey system in mine and if I forget to turn that on, it will start, run for about 2 to 3 seconds then die. If your passkey is bad it will still enable the car to start, the computer needs to see the signal to allow it to keep running.
