I ran into a little problem while changing my clutch fork today. While removing the outer bushing I cracked the casting that holds the bushing. It is still intact...but what is the best way to go about fixing this? Can this be JB welded, need to be welded, or is it not that important. It seems as if the new bushing will still seat tight. But I would rather not find out later that it cracked the rest of the way off.

call around to some of your local welding shops, find out if they are able to weld aluminum. if so, take it in and let a professional do it. you will be happier in the end, even if you have to grind bit to get the bushing in.

this happened to me, about a month ago. i got it fixed, and it appears fine... although i won't know until i get the engine in the car.
