Hey i have a sound file of a fiero with a flowmaster muffler i was wondering if anyone knows what the part number is. I know that its a 40 series muffler and i love the way it sounds and im thinking of getting one. Also did u have to get a custom exhaust built or was it just cut out the old, weld in the new.

hahahahahahahaha that was most likely my sound file i made bout year or so ago... actually when i was looking for a flowmaster i ran into the proble is they just dont make one that works on a fiero from the factory.. well maybe a 80series...but not the 40series, i had to get mine from westcoast fiero. they actually custom make it. looks like they take a muffler and cut one of the exits out and weld it back on the same side as the intake.... i belive the muffler was like 140$ i got dual twintips chrome monza tips resognated at bout 75 each side, but the muffler shop charged me bout 180bux to do it....
all i can say is prepare for the exhaust to be loud! most people seem to think i dont have a muffler anymore... =)

Ya the exhaust system i was gonna get made was to weld 2 glass packs together and route it around so i totally want a loud exhaust. But as soon as i heard yours i thought that is the exhaust i want. Was there any kind of performance gain that you felt or was it just for the sound. The big question i have is was it worth the money and the hassle of getting the parts.

Wait until you purchase the Camaro Flowmaster 80 Series Muffler. It makes it sounds like you have a V-8 under the hood. The 80 Series performance street muffler is specially designed for applications where the muffler must be mounted transversely (crossflow)behind the rear axle, either to match an OE system or for increased ground clearance. The 80 Series is a true crossflow with single or dual inlet/dual outlet configurations and produces a powerful aggressive muscle car sound. Performance Street Application Recommendations Cross-Flow Design oCrossflow applications. o1982-2001 Camaro and Firebirds.
Single 2.50"/ Dual 2.50" Part #42583
Look up flowmaster at this address and compare for yourself. http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/web10/productsf5.html Compare the 80 series, 60 series, and the 40 series. The 80 series is the most powerful and aggressive sounding muffler out of these three designs. Here is my exhaust system; Custom made total 2 ½" exhaust system consisting of; very high flow 2 ½" Random Technology cat , Muffler - 2 ½" dual Flowmaster 80 Series - this is the same muffler that the 5.7L Tunnel Port GM motor uses. This exhaust system is much better than the Borla system. 90 db loudness at idle, measured 1 meter away!!!

only 80series i heard is on a 350 V8 so i wouldnt really count that..that will sound mean no matter what muffler you put on it. ask minngreenGT i think he has the 40series like i have...almost the same exact setup to...... i think? just keep in mind if your wanting less muffler the 40 series is about half the size of a 80series....

"ask minngreenGT". I have asked him. Both minngreenGT and I have been e-mailing each other for the past month or so. He was kind enough to post some pictures for me. Yes, even him could not believe that I have stuffed an 80 series Camaro muffler in there.

Hey fierocsp what size is the 80 series flow master? What I mean is, will it fit, no problem or is there a lot of modifications.I heard something like this on a Camaro last week.Muffler with slightly larger exhaust pipes, it sounded awsome nice deep throuty growl, but not over done, V8 best describes it.Thats exactely what Im looking for, the kind of sound that turns more heads than Jason did in friday the 13th.

I have the Camaro 80 Series performance street muffler on my 3800SC. It sounds great. In a Fiero exhaust competition with Fieros I took a second to a V8 Fiero over some other non-Flowmaster 3800SC Fieros. The nice part of the muffler is it is quiet at idle and cruising but very powerful sounding when you are on it.

I have a 4.9 being put togethee right now and need to fiqure out the exaust this week. I know that it's going to be Flowmaster. Just not sure which one. I want it to be loud but not annoying, well maybe a little bit! We are going to built a 2.5 or 3 inch the same sytle as stock and need the muffler to fit somehow. Any ideas?
RacerIT, The bottom picture is the one I am using. The 3" in and the dual 2 1/2" out is ok in your application. Remember that the bigger the ID the more expensive the exhaust system.
