I had noticed that your stinger (and some other cars) have had reverse intake manifolds, and I was just curious as to how that is done. Also, will there be room for a MAF sensor? Any input would be appreciated as always!

On the LS1 it only requires moving an oil pressure switch and a very small mod to the underside of the plastic intake. The LT1 & LT4 require extensive mods to the intake manifolds.

Yeah, I respect the Northstar, GM V8's are all OK with me, but when you put the starter in the block?..... Not me. I love GM, but let's be honest, it's not the highest quality stuff(especially electrical). Starters break, and I ain't about to remove a manifold to get to one.
But.....Northstars are still cool!

My engine's pushing 100,000 miles on the original starter. Hasn't given me any trouble in the last year/15K. It is after all a Cadillac starter

I dont think people understand why they put the starter in there. Its because its a BETTER place. Its not cranking on a starter that kills it. Its exposure to the elements. ie: rain, salt, snow, oil. How many starters have you removed that weren't covered in oil or had a rusty case?
anyways. You should be able to reverse the intake on any engine. Including the gen 1 sbc. You would just need to have a custom manifold and run a very short distributer that fits under the intake. or run a front mount distributer. Either way, you would need a crank trigger ignition. I dont know how well that would work in a fiero. Not much room down there.

Why would you need a crank trigger ignition with a front mount distributor? Are there kits to give SBC's front mount dizzies? The original SBC also has the coolant in the manifold at the front, so you'd have to make mods like the ones at www.lt1intake.com if you turned the manifold around, and run an external thermostat housing.
This would only apply to a TPI, tunnel-ram, mini-ram, etc. because nothing else for an SBC has a bias concerning which end it likes to suck from. That didn't come out right.

Sorry, I was thinking of reversing the intake on a 2 piece manifold. Something like a the Holley stealth ram. Just bolt the lower intake on regular, and reverse the top intake. With the TB facing the distributer.
I never looked into a front mount distributer. The only ones I have seen were in jegs or summit and require the use of a Crank trigger. I dont doubt there is one that doesnt require a crank trigger. I only thought about doing this for a short time. Then I started pricing things and found the LT1 to be cheaper. I like the lower profile of the LT1 intake anyways.
