Well it took me awhile to get the lug nuts off. Got them loose last week. Put them back on and pulled the chrome one thats not suppose to be there off.. Well my question is this... I got the car on stands and i pulled the lugs off. The tire is like stuck on haha. Would it be rusted on? What can i do or spray on it? I dont wanna pull on it . afraid stands might slip...
Thank guys

The aluminum has "cold-welded" itself to the hub.

Best way is to get a small 6-8" chunk of 2x4, lay it against the rim, and beat on it with a large hammer. you do NOT want to hose it down with WD40, as it'll f*** with your brakes.

It'll break free, don't worry.

if you even THINK it might "slip" off the stands, you NEED to redo your stands!! First thing I do after letting the jack down a hair,is TRY to knock it off my stands. If I do, I just have to jack it back up, but if I didn't check it, and it did slip when I'm under it, well lets just say you could buy a fiero real cheep from my wife...been doing some brake work this week, it's spend a lot of time up on stands.

and a block of wood, and a hammer from the inside of rim should pop it right off.

Yeah, get that thing secure. A good swift kick in the tire works for me....but basically just beat the thing loose.

Guy at a tire shop years ago showed me a nifty trick...

Remove all the lug nuts (duh!), then take a big headed push broom - Standing at the back of the car, you swing it like a giant hammer, bristles down, and whack the inside lower edge of the rim. Popped my 'welded' T/A rim off in one swing!

LOL!! Great idea! I basically did the same thing on my Nissan, but instead of a broom I just used a Kung-Fu kick on the sidewall of the tire. It actually took 2 hits but the job got done

Remember to put a lug nut or 2 back on and turn them a couple of turns to keep the wheel from flying off when it comes loose.

When I came to California in '73, I had the driver's side front rim on my '63 Dodge rusted on. The 'tire guy' whacked the tire with a big hammer.....and the tierod end came apart. I don't know which of us was more surprised!

Probably saved the car, and me, from crashing.

easiest way is to loosen all the lug nuts. leave a little slack, drive the car like around a parking lot or short way back and forth down the street. The center will usually break loose in a few turns.
