mine is always between 1.0 volts and 2.1 volts its never gone higher or lower, im just curious, cause i thought the map should go upto 4 volts.

any reasons why it doesnt go up that high if its supposed to?

matthew....the gm service manual says that the map should have between 1v and about 4.5v at wide open throttle. This all depends on your altitude however. 2v is too low for WOT at any altitude. Good luck!

Testing MAP requires a vacuum pump (Mity Vac) and an ACCURATE vacuum gauge.

Messure MAP output voltage with ignition on and engine off. Apply 10 in./250 mm Hg to unit, voltage should be 1.2-2.3 volts less.

I was simply reading what the GM servie manual gave as voltage readings. Not the practical testing of the map sensor.
