Hello, my car smokes a little when I start it every now and again, is there a product I can buy to re-seal everything so to speak? And while im at the store, is there anything else you would recomend. You know, to help lower oil consumtion, increase mpg, that sort of thing. Thanks. Pat.
I agree, I use Restore in all of my vehicles, and most of them have over 100k on them, they all run like champs starting at the first turn of the key. I have used this for years with no problems I would recommend it to anyone. Give it a try!

use for 500 miles with fresh oil filter and regular oil.
Will clean carbon deposits from seals. It is an ester based and very mild cleaner. It will reconditions seals and clean the engine. If the seals are not torn, it will stop leaks.
is the smoke blue, black, white? im assuming its blue.. if its blue what kind of oil you use? try mobil 1 synthetic before you add lucas (lucas isnt even oil).. if its white smoke.. thas common on the first start of the day just because u have condensation in ur pipes.
hope that helps

If it's already burning oil, switching to a synthetic is likely to increase the problem, not alleviate it.
By the way, Lucas is 100% petroleum.
Still, post the weight of oil you are currently running. 10W40 has been known to cause ring sealing problems.

LOL, A bottle of whoop ass is definetly what my car needs. But yeah, its blue, and I use 5w30 in the colder months, like now, but when its warm, 10w40. And thats when it smokes. Its only every now and then, and its only a puf. But yellow86 notised a little comming out when I was showing of my Borla exhaust. But ill look into restore, and lucas heavy duty oil stabilzer. I want to nip this bug in the butt before my can(or bottle) of whoop-ass is instaled

Don't add anything. Your problem is just a little leaking of the valve guide seals. Since it is only occasionally, don't worry about it. Use a good quality oil (I recommend Mobil-1 5w30 year round). If it gets worse, just remove the heads and have them rebuilt.

Robert beat me to it. The only worthwhile engine additive at this point is new valve seals. If you don't want to do that then just drive it and don't worry about it. This isn't a big problem, just keep an eye on the oil level. If it's just a puff at startup you probably won't even notice it in the oil level.

Awsome, so I can stick it on the bottle with no worries? Nothing more than a 50 shot of course. Its just a fix till my new motor goes in towards the end of summer.

Isn't it just an illusion if you put heavier oil or a gooey additive to increase oil pressure. If the bearings are already loose why add a thickener that will reduce the flow of oil through the bearings?

I use Motor Oil. Best damn engine additiv e there is!
Thicker oil is a little slower, but it also retains it's viscosity with heavier abuse... Means it forms a large barrier between the bearings and the races.
Thick oil is great to about 5500rpm before weird friction problems start coming up.
