Whats the best way to replace the door locks, and where is the best place to get new ones beside ebay or the fiero store? The key is broke off in one foor lock and the other one must be wore out because it won't turn no matter how hard you try. Do you have to take off the inside door panel to remove the lock? If so is it possible to tighten up a side view mirror while changing the lock?

No need to change the locks.

Here are the reasons

a) for a a little bit of money CAA (or any locksmith) can take that key out of the lock for you...then all you have to do it copy it on a new key at any local key copiers

&

b) Fiero locks are imfamous for freezing especially on wet cold days. If it's anywhere near -10 degrees and if there is any moisture (snow or fog) around the lock it will freeze soild. Just wait for a warm day and try again. If it doesn't move even on a +5 day (or what have you) then grab a set from the Fiero Store...great prices and good service.

Good Luck

saskfiero, you do have to remove the inner panel to remove the door locks, here is a link to a thread I did a while back called How to remove an inner door panel, with pics.
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/028780.html

Then look over this other thread I did about removing the outer door panel, with pics. It will show how to get to the mirror bolts so you can tighten them
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/028815.html

Sorry I can't help on the best place to buy the replacement lock, maybe check a dealer or bite the bullet on the other options, HoHo

And to actually answer (part) of your question -- Napa. Just bought a set from them yesterday when my normal supplier (who carries Neihoff) couldn't get me a set for whatever reason.

~$20cdn for the pair. Good GM keys too, not the chintsy knock off's.

Watts has the best answer for sure. A trick I use is to take a piece of piano wire or guitar string, crimp the end into a sharp curve and use a grinder of some sort to cut it off so that it has a very sharp edge.

Spray the lock cyl with a good teflon based lubricant and wait a few minutes. The idea is to stick the wire into the flat surface of the key and the sharp edge sinks or grabs into the key and pulls out the broken piece. It works.....sounds mickey mouse, but I've done it many dozens of times. Once you get the broken piece out, take it and the other piece of the key to a locksmith and have them cut you the right key. Good luck!

I just broke my key in the lock of my 87GT (new thred to come soon w/ pics) and I think GTDudes methode should work well...i'll have to wait untill warmer weather before I can try it but if that doesn't work out CAA is my next stop.
