I'm replacing the locks on mine. Do I get to the locks by taking off the outside door panel or the interior door panel? Thanks

Joshua 1:5,9
5 "No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

To me, the easiest way is both. The inside ones are no big trick and you have to take them off to get the nuts off that hold the mirror, and are part of what holds the outside panel, off.

I've heard of people changing the locks just taking the inside off, and I'm sure it's possible, but I bet you finish the job sans some skin on your hands.

Dan, you can do it by only taking off the inner panel, to do it by taking off the outer panel you will still have to take off the inner panel so you can remove the mirror to take the outer panel off, so I would say sacrifice some knuckle skin and don't bother taking the outer skin off, it ain't easy but less trouble in the long run IMO.

Yep, I wouldn't bother taking off the outer panel. I did mine just removing the inner. Just make sure that BEFORE you start the job you have a magnet rod, OR a magnet you can tie to a string. I dropped that darn clip down in the door about 3 times, lol.

I did mine by removing the inside skin and just the back part of the outside.
I hope I never have to do it again, my big hands don’t fit and I dropped everything 3 times

Hi Dan,
Click on the link in my sig to go to my homepage. Find Fiero Procedures and you will find my complete writeup on changing door locks. You will probably need to take 5 minutes to join the group to access the info but you will definately find the writeup useful

Cheers
Bernie
