My next fiero I want to paint with this color, I compliment FieroGT87 for painting his fastback with such a nice color, but anyways, the paint code is PB 3, and I was wondering how much this paint is, and where it can be bought, and how much is needed to paint a fiero?

well.. I hate to go changing your mind.. But.. I also was thinking about going with that paint.. Untill!! my latest Kit Car mag came in with a sexy purple lambo on it.. he used the dupont cromalusion indigo blasberry, Its a DEEP purple to royal blue iridescent paint.. and well.. it took 6 quarts to cover his car.. and its not cheap.. actually its most likly the highest dollar paint on the market.. at $658 a quart!!!! sooo the question now is how much are we willing to pay.. Just a warning ahead of time, if you do go with that and have an accident, according to my paint man and DuPont as well, it is almost non-repairable to get the colors to match.

I've seen a few combinations of the cromalusion paints that I think are beautiful, but it's just now worth it to me to have something that expensive put on that can't be matched if somebody dings me.

Also, never forget, while the paint might be beautiful, there's a very good chance that it will NOT look good to 80% of the prospective buyers out there. That's just the nature of "unique" colors. Plan on keeping the car for the rest of your, or it's, life.

Our 85 GT is painted the PB3 Intense blue pearl.

We were warned that in event of touch up paint, or repair work, it may not match in color.

Sadly my wife struck a deer just before we put the car away for winter storage.
A new fender, headlight cover , rocker panel and door gfx piece was required, along with refinishing the front fascia.

The paint shop did a wonderful job matching the paint.

We took the car straight from the paint booth to storage, and pulled it out a matter of days before Carlisle.
We won a first place in our class, the paint matched perfectly.

This color is extremely hard to catch the correct shade in pictures, but this pic shows well enough how the paint matched.

I put a dot on the panels that were painted after the car was done.

I paid $875.00 taxes included to have that car color changed from black to the intense blue. That included paint and supplies and the rest of the prep work.

I did have the bumpers stripped, and all the mouldings, etc removed from the car, as they were painted seperately.

I use this body shop excluslively for all my body / paint work, so they treat me good.
They do alot of muscle car restorations, so they do a quality job.

Since I had this car painted, they have upped the rate to $1500.00 for a color change on a Fiero, but this is still an awesome price for the quality of the job.

All the prices I quoted are in canadian dollars.

Thanks for the compliment on the GT. I spent about $650.00 in materials for the color change, and alot of work. I won't go into the history of painting the car, but lets say if you have kids keep them away!

The car was originally factory blue until the original owner painted it "Christmas Green Metalic" I wanted to go back to the blue color but I don't care for the factory blue on the Fiero's. My wife and kids loved the PB3 blue on the Dodge trucks, the rest is history.
