Yup! I'll tell you how I did it on my machine, but I don't know whether it'll work on your particular donor.
On the '95 Firebird/Camaro, ( where I got my motor) there is a resistor in the ignition key. When you plunge the key in the ignition switch, it completes a circuit that sends a 50HZ square wave from the pass-key module to the ECU, which turns on the injectors and enables the fuel pump.
To circumvent the pass-key module, simply build a 50HZ square wave generator that'll supply a signal to the ECU when the ignition key is in the "on" position. Any high school/ Junior college electronics student should be able to whip you one out. If it wasn't dark as the Hubs of Hell and I hadn't had too much applejack, I'd hunt up the thingy I built for my '77 924 Porsche, whut has a '95 Fireburd motor in it.
After reading the other answers to your post I agree that if you have the original ignition key to your donor car, then measure the resistance across the key and simply solder the proper resistor across the two wires that go to the contacts in the ignition switch.
BUT...
If you're like most of us who buy an "engine changeout" (to use the words of my local salvage yard) then you don't have any idea where the original ignition switch is, or the original car is, for that matter.
Like I said, I'll e-mail you in the morning.
