Ok..When I bought my formula the headlights didnt work right..so after a few months of wood blocks holding them up I decided to buy Rare87GT's headlights that came with his formula (he has flushmount lights now). Well..same problem...They both come up very slowly while slipping and cant come up at all if the hood is down and the doors are on. Here's the hard part though. The right headlight motor will not even try to go down. motor will not even spin. What should I do? Is it worth the trouble getting these fixed or should I buy flushmount lights and if so where should I get them? Thanks for the help everyone,
-Ryan

If the replacement lights/motors you've installed worked previously, sounds like you may have a bad headlight door module. This is located on left side of front compartment. As I recall its in front of left front tire and hard to get to. Also, this module may just have bad ground connection.

Without trying to sound trite, Rodney's Rebuild kit may be in your future.

Rodney's kit for the 87-88 headlights is down right cheap compared to the 84-86 rebuild kits.

And where might I get a replacement?

You should be able to purchase a used one from a junk yard. They were used in 87-92 Firebirds as well is the 87/88 Fieros. If you've got a local u-pull-it yard you should be able to get one for just a few bucks.

On the Fiero they are located under the driver's side fender, just about level with the marker light. Trace the cable coming from below the windshield wiper motor, around the brake m/c, out thru a hole in the front of the engine compartment into the driver's side headlight bucket area. Part of it goes to the outside of the spaceframe thru a round hole. That connects to the headlight control module.

On the Firebirds, thay are mounted in the engine compartment, on the firewall, in the vicinity of the windshield washer motor.

They are black, about 4" square, 1" think with two connectors.
